SO, it has been raining a lot lately, relative to the area we now live in.
Somehow, in the vague ramblings of a family multi tasking in the same room at the end of a long day, the word flood was mentioned.
The boys jumped on it, asking if we would flood again (we have lived through rivers overflowing, get evacuated kind of flooding, and flash flooding) and a whole conversation jump started.
Master 5 then states that he knows what makes a flood.
The room stills, waiting for Master 5 to show off his knowledge of science, and climates, and all other brilliant sort of stuff.

He looks me in the eye and says:
” The rivers, and lakes, and oceans take all the rain, and swallow and swallow and swallow. Then they cannot swallow any more, so they vomit it back up and we flood.”
Complete with hand and body actions to emphasise and illustrate his words.

I looked him back in the eye, and with the most serious face I could muster, said ” Yes darling, they vomit it back up.”

Now you know.
Aren’t you glad?!
